YouTube TV used to be considered one of the best streaming services for live TV when it first launched in 2017. But since then many other options have emerged and people have started migrating from YouTube TV to Netflix, Hulu and more. platforms. While some people keep their YouTube TV subscriptions because they love certain shows, others subscribe for a month or two and then decide to cancel or pause their membership.

Either way, if you’re even thinking about canceling your YouTube TV subscription, we’re here to teach you how to do it online as well as on your iOS and Android devices.

Cancel a YouTube TV subscription online

If you want to cancel YouTube TV from your desktop computer, rest assured that you can use any Windows, Mac or Linux device. Follow these steps to complete the cancellation:

• When you open tv.youtube.com, look for the Sign In button in the upper right corner of the screen and make sure you’re signed in with the correct YouTube TV account.
• Click on your profile picture or avatar in the upper right corner of the browser to open a pop-up menu.
• Click Subscription at the top of the left sidebar.
• Select Manage subscription. It should be next to the YouTube TV membership icon.
• Now click Cancel Subscription. If you want to cancel your YouTube TV membership altogether, make sure you don’t click Cancel Here. This option will stop charging, but will reactivate your account and start charging again after weeks of absence.
• You will then see a list of reasons why you want to cancel your subscription. Choose one of the reasons given. Please note that if you select Other, you must write a full description of why you decided to cancel your subscription.
• Click Continue Cancel at the bottom of the pop-up window.
• Click Yes, Cancel to end your subscription.
• If you cancel, YouTube TV will send you a confirmation email. Check your mailbox to see if you have received it.
• After the entire unsubscribe process is complete, you will be redirected to the sign up page. You can verify that the process was successful by looking under the YouTube TV logo and seeing Restart Membership.
• If you have used a free trial, your subscription will simply be deactivated. You immediately lose access to all content on this streaming service. However, if you have a paid subscription, you can continue to use the streaming service for the duration of the paid period, until your next billing period.

Cancel a YouTube TV subscription using the mobile app

If you prefer to use your smartphone, there are two ways to disable your YouTube TV subscription. One of them is online by following the steps outlined above. The only difference is that you access tv.youtube.com through your smartphone’s web browser instead of your computer.

Another option is to cancel your subscription through the YouTube TV mobile app. However, you should know that logging out via the app on an iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad is currently not possible. You can still do this via the web browser on your Apple device. But if you’re using an Android smartphone or tablet, you can do it directly from the mobile app.

Follow these steps to cancel YouTube TV using the mobile app:

• Open the YouTubeTV app for Android and go to your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
• When the drop-down menu opens, select Settings.
• Select Subscription.
• Then tap the Manage button next to your YouTube TV subscription.
• Again, if you want to cancel your subscription completely, tap the Cancel button instead of the Pause button.
• Select the reason you want to unsubscribe from the list.
• For security reasons, YouTube TV is again proposing to suspend your subscription. Select Continue canceling to proceed instead.
• Only now you will go to the final deletion screen. Tap the Yes, Cancel button to completely and permanently end your monthly subscription.

We’re suspending your YouTube TV subscription

As you can see, canceling YouTube TV isn’t the only option. You can always pause the order and resume it later. This is a great option, especially now with the new price increase. Take a break and come back when your favorite show has new episodes you want to watch.

All subscribers can pause their YouTube TV subscription for between four weeks and six months. You can continue to use the YouTube TV service manually at any time without waiting a certain amount of time.

If you cancel your YouTube TV membership, you will no longer be charged for the service, but you will no longer be able to use the service. If you choose to do so, please note that your other accounts associated with YouTube TV will also be suspended. But if you continue to use the service, you will regain full access.
