You use Instagram on a daily basis and so far you have never had a problem using its most important features. However, recently you realize that something is wrong: you can no longer communicate with the user as before and you suspect that the latter has limited you.
As they say? That’s the way it is and that’s why you’re wondering how to know if someone has restricted you on Instagram? In fact, in the following chapters of my guide, I will explain in detail how to succeed in your intent with some of the features that the well-known photographic social network makes directly available.
Therefore, if you want to know more, sit down and just take a few minutes of your free time to implement the steps I am about to give you. You will find that with a little luck you will be able to reach the goal you have set for yourself. At this point I just have to wish you good reading and good luck for everything!

Advance information
Before explaining how to understand if someone has restricted you on Instagram, let me give you some preliminary information about it.
First of all, you must know that the restriction is an Instagram feature that allows any user of the social network to limit the interaction of other people with him: the restricted user, in fact, cannot know if the user who applied the restriction is online and has read your private messages
Furthermore, when you limit the interaction of a person, you will not receive notifications about his comments in their posts (which are visible only to them and instead are hidden.
However, you should know that the restriction function can be removed at any time and the user who set the restriction can manually accept the hidden comments to be visible to all.
But is there an official solution to know if you’ve been restricted on Instagram? Unfortunately – or fortunately – no. However, as I will explain in later chapters of this guide, using an alternate account allows you to perform some checks and determine with reasonable certainty whether other users are restricted. Read all the details.
How to understand who has limited you on Instagram
Having made the necessary premises above, let’s see how to create a secondary account on Instagram and then find out if there are restrictions on the main account for other users of the social network.
So, if you haven’t already, open the Instagram app for Android or iPhone, press your name on the main social network screen and tap Add account> Create new account.
Then, proceed to create an Instagram account by following the on-screen instructions and it will automatically be added to the application so you can easily switch between profiles (just tap on its name).
At this point, follow the instructions I will give you and check the areas of Instagram affected by the potential restriction to determine if your main account is affected or not.
Check the comments
To find out if someone has blocked you on Instagram, you can first check the comments associated with the posts of the person who you think has blocked you on your other account.
As explained above, if you have previously replied to a message from a user who then restricted your account, you shouldn’t find your comment in the posted messages (because in the case of a real restriction, it should have been automatically filtered and hidden from other users of the social network).
If you do not know how to access the comments of an Instagram post, use the search engine of the social network (magnifying glass icon) to find the profile of the user that you think has reserved for you, touch their name and press Click first on the message of interest and then on the corresponding balloon icon, and you will see all the comments.
If you can’t find the comment you posted earlier in your main account, you may have been really restricted.
